My name is Yuta Akeno. I am a Software Developer, having graduated from Algonquin College. Previously, I worked in the Maritime Industry as a Navigation Officer and Technical Advisor for merchant ships. I am passionate about Web Development, the ocean, and ships.
Currently, I am brushing up on my knowledge and skills in Frontend, Backend, and Infrastructure.
In the future, I plan to expand and deepen my knowledge in areas such as IoT and Data Analysis.
The Donation Tracking System is a collaborative project with Bethany Baptist Church, designed to manage donations received from church members. The system encompasses key functionalities such as recording donation history, generating tax receipts, sending emails containing the generated receipts, and tracking donation statuses. Additionally, the system features dashboards with graphs that enable the visual monitoring of statistical data. For Full Stack Development, Python and Django are utilized in conjunction with PostgreSQL, all Dockerized for streamlined team development.
OpinioNet is a project developed as a Voting Application. It functions as a social networking application where users can create and participate in polls, as well as visually observe the poll results. The ongoing process involves continuous addition and enhancement of functionalities. OpinioNet employs React and Next.js for the frontend interface. On the backend, PHP and Laravel are combined with a PostgreSQL database to create APIs. It was Dockerized and deployed on AWS EC2. I have plans to further extend the functionalities while considering scalability.
ShipLog is a project developed as a Rating Application. It functions as evaluation platform where users can rate and review ships, as well as visually observe the ship ratings, allowing ship operator to make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary trouble when reasing a ship. This employs React for the frontend interface. On the backend, C# and ASP.NET in conjuction with MySQL database to create APIs. Application includes validastion to XML with XSD and storing it in the database. Deepened understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
GameTro is a project designed for retro game enthusiasts, offering the ability to play vintage games, compete for high scores, read retro gaming news, and more. The heart of the project lies in creating games from the ground up using Vanilla JS. Additionally, GameTro utilizes the News API and custom JavaScript scripts with jQuery. This was my first experience with a team project. Throughout its development, I refined my understanding of JavaScript and OOP and gained proficiency in utilizing Git and GitHub for collaborative teamwork.
